Books are Heavy

On Friday night we had a surprise for the in-laws! For Christmas we gave them tickets to a Hitmen game at the dome. They were very happy and excited to attend! However what we did not tell them is that we also had tickets to the game. So we waited until the game was almost starting then grabbed our seats right beside them!

The game was a major blowout for the Hitmen of 9 to 2. Although, the highlight of the game (for us) was Dad taking a puck in the shoulder. Luckily he was alright and just caught a little off guard. But.. It’s really made it like the full hockey experience for them :)

We also attended the Motorcycle show at the Round Up Center. There were a tonne of bike and clothing, including both stock and custom machines. What I learned again was that I am very happy with my bike and do not wish for anything different! We tried a few bikes our for the wife, but they still don’t make many for short girls…

We also started to clean the house for our up coming move. We took about eight bags of used clothes to Sally Anne. And also took a huge amount of books to the used book store. I’m really glad about doing this as getting this started now, means it will be a less painful process later.. Oh and book are heavy.

Christmas buying blitz

I keep peering in the windows of our new house every other day, but alas, no newprogress has been made since our viewing Dec 21 (I’ll post pics later…Christmas has kept us too busy to post).
But we did manage to get a couple major purchases out of the way for the house during Boxing week madness.

I can hardly contain my excitement when I introduce to you…the new…the stylish…and the most hardworking pair you may ever meet…the laundry team of my dreams…
LG Tromm Steam Washer and Dryer set in Navy Blue:

Of all the household tasks that can be done, I have always enjoyed laundry the most. I think it is because I love the smell of the fabric softener, and I am constantly trying to find better and more long-lasting scents. Ask poor hubby…on more than one occasion he has patiently stood waiting in the grocery store while I insisted on opening the cap of every brand of fabric softener, trying to decide which scent was my favorite….vanilla bean, lavender, fresh breeze, april fresh, mountain air, ocean mist, orange citrus, and the many other scents I have yet to try.
My latest experiment was Gain’s original scent. Don’t bother. First, I went to pour it into the cap to measure for the first load of laundry, and I almost poured out half the bottle…it’s super thin and runny, unlike Downy. However, it was a nice change from the chunky, think, stain your clothes Superstore brand I had most recently. And the Gain scent only lasts until you put the clothes in the dryer. Boo. My favorite is Downy. I think I am addicted to the smellof fabric softeners. Don’t tell the water meter, but if I miss the rinse cycle and can’t add the Downy, I repeat it. I know, waste.
But that brings me back to my excitement about the LG washer…no more missed rinsed cycles…woohoo!
And, if our friend Nora wants to do our laundry some time, the display screen language can even be changed to Spanish… LOL .

Round 2 – Game 5 Post Game – Everingham vs

Last night Sean’s parents came out to watch our game. They were the first spectators that we’ve had all year and wanted to put on a good show.

It appears as though the break did us some good, since we were all raring to go. We played excellent all night long making many good throws, one after another. We gave up one big end of three and the rest were singles. Unfortunately it was not enough to win the game, as we lost by one point, but we played great!

I also learned something I never knew about the curling ice before… That it’s actually slanted down the center line and out, a very, very helpful hint!

Great job guys!
