Trailer Park

Well last night Alexis decided to cook a surprise meal. When I came to the table I found her secret Trailer Park recipe that she’s never used before.

Chicken smothered in mushroom soup.

It was good however, once we finished dinner I had to go out side and start scattering old car parts all over the lawn. I then proceeded to drive down to Wal-Mart and grabbed a couple of shopping carts for our lawn collection. Luckily I also found a old shed door I can use for a drain spout!!

Ski Weekend!

This weekend Alexis and I headed to banff with our friends Trevor and Amy. There we had a place room at the Hidden Ridge Resort. It was a nice place with a real fire place and a separate room for the beds. We went there because we were going to Lake Louise to ski on Saturday. And oh what a day it was. The temperature was in the positive and some of the snow was melting. It was hot enough that the runs that are regularly icy were just beginning to melt. Unfortunately Amy fell and hurt her wrist on the second run, but she was able to get a rebate and felt much better (but not 100%) the next morning.

Saturday evening we used the Hot tub, with was exactly a million degrees. So Alexis wanted to stay in until she shrivelled up and everyone else was dying of over heating. I think she has some crazy bug in her blood that lets her do this. Anyhow, after we went to Town for some Italian. It was deeee-licios.

Sunday morning everyone (except Amy) was sore for the boarding.. All in all it was a great weekend. When we arrived back in Calgary T & A took us past their new house that they are taking possession in the next few weeks. It’s looking very nice!!!

Round 3 – Game 5 Post Game – Everingham vs Schmitt

Well last night the sweepers arms were almost worn out of their sockets. Both teams were missing one of their regular sweepers so we switched off to help each other.

It was an extremely close game where one team took a few points then the other team took a couple of ends to catch up. Going into the final end we were down by two points and had the hammer. Our strategy was to get all our rocks into the house to hopefully pull off two points. Luck would prevail and coming down to the skips rocks we were sitting the two points we needed to tie the game. The Schmitt skip missed his final rock which was thrown to knock out our point by a hair. So I had a draw to close to the button for three points. Luck would have it and I threw the right weight and it was swept into the house so we scored three points.

Chock up another win for the Everingham rink!

This game really goes to our sweepers. It was hard an tireing work to sweep for both teams and I’m sure they are going to feel it for the next few days. Not to mention all those times when they had to fake sweeping hard to make the Schmitt’s rock curl more then they wanted to! (ups did I say that).. I’m sure the Schmitt team did the same with their sweepers helping us out though ;)

Winter Nationals!

Well, this weekend Chris and I headed up to the WinterNational in Red Deer. We wanted to spend a million dollars on new gear and trucks plus watch a tonne of professional racing. However, when we arrived we found that there was nothing for sale (not even a t-shirt) and could only watch racing in the freezing arena.

So we sat outside for all of Saturday and Sunday in the areana watching the Buggies, Tuggies, and Monster trucks. We were not dissapointed with the event one bit. Some of the vehicles were stupidly souped up and others were stock. But, basically the winner was the smoothest driver!

Cann’t wait for next years event!

Round 3 – Game 5 Post Game – Everingham vs Nelson

Well last nights game was a blow-out! It seemed like I could not call the correct sweeping on hardly any shots and so we just kept getting 1 and 2′ed to death.

I guess the ice was extra slippery last night as we had three people go down while sweeping and throwing rocks. The skip in the other team, Alexis and Nora all tried swimming on ice! Surprising enough Sean did not even attempt to do down, but it might be those new cleats he bought.
